Most of the facts point to CHENOWETH being of
Welch origin.
CHENOWETH is a Cornish name meaning new house. Cornwall did come under Wales
originally and therefore I presume this is why it is said to be Welsh.

The name is of Cornish origin. The correct Cornish spelling is Chynoweth
and means "new house" - "chy" means house (cf. "ty" in Welsh) and "noweth"
